5, in the Baker University Center Front Room. Technically inclined from an early age, Olson went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a doctorate in Physics from the University of Iowa. During his work-study program he designed and built an opto-mechanical myofibril force transducer. Many of the musicians here are majoring in engineering, physics, cultural anthropology, and more — but at Duke they can still feed their passion for music. But if you have any interest in music, physics, engineering, cars, 19th century opera, 20th century television theme songs or dancing bananas, please read on. We're going to start with exhibit A. Degree in electrical engineering with minors in physics and music from the University of Vermont in 1999. Martin Kordesch will present "The Physics of Music," in his Science Café discussion at 5 p.m. Immediately after Music, Physics and Engineering, 2nd. The core of the minor is three music technology courses, with a variety of electives in music, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, and software engineering.
